Draft Title
Please keep the title simple and clear. The title should give potential attendees a good sense of what will be covered in the program and, if applicable, the level of material. If appropriate, the title could also indicate the intended audience. Limited to 70 characters.

Session Lengths

We offer several lengths of sessions. Full day sessions, which are seven hours, will be scheduled on Wednesday only. The rest of the sessions will be scheduled over Thursday to Saturday.

Seven hours: Full-day sessions should focus on a specific topic, and use the time to teach attendees a skill or technique that will help them to improve their farming operation. The agenda can include one or multiple presenters; however, we prefer to have no more than four. The proposal will require a draft agenda. We will schedule approximately six sessions, on Wednesday only, at this year’s conference.

Three hours: Half-day sessions should take an in-depth look at a specific topic. They can include one or multiple presenters; however, we prefer to have no more than three. The proposal will require a draft agenda.

90 minutes: The majority of our sessions will be 90 minutes, which allows time either to provide an overview of a broad topic, or to focus on a very narrow subject. These are a good format for lectures, panel discussions, and facilitated group work. They also work well for a short presentation combined with other formats. They typically include one to two presenters. For panel discussions, we prefer to limit it to three presenters (in some cases, a pair of speakers can count as one presenter), plus a moderator.

60 minutes: This length of session is well suited to inspirational lectures (allow 20 to 30 minutes for Q&A), as well as more interactive sessions like Q&As, discussions, learning circles, or demonstrations.

Note: Trade show stage programming will be arranged outside of this proposal process. If you are interested in presenting in the trade show for up to 20 minutes about a project or product, please be in touch with Kristin Hoy directly at

What length of time do you want for the session?
We anticipate having three to six full day sessions (7 hours) and they will all be scheduled on Wednesday. The rest of the length options will be scheduled across Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.

Describe this session as you would like it to be promoted to potential attendees. Provide a clear description using three to five sentences that tells the potential attendees what they can expect to learn in this program. Please do not include biographical information in the description. The primary contact will have the opportunity to update this draft if the program is accepted. Limited to 425 characters.

For our longer sessions, please provide information that reflects how the time will be used. This will not be shared with attendees and is used for internal review only.

The program should be specifically tailored for the group(s) you select, and the proposed title should reflect this as well. Many of our sessions might appeal to several/all of these groups, but please only select those for whom you are designing the proposal.
You have selected three or more audiences. Each program should have no more than two picked from the list above. Please revise your selections above.
Please de-select all of your selections above, except for the final option.

Day(s) Available
Please select what day(s) this specific program could be scheduled.

List all speakers for the program alphabetically by last name then first name.
For accepted proposals, each speaker will need to complete a Speaker Information Form to provide their detailed information and biography.
Include yourself in the count below. Please remember to list yourself here, as the first speaker.

Please share who else you would like to include as a speaker, including their contact information.

Speaker(s) Background
Please provide a brief background for yourself and any co-speakers, highlighting experience and expertise relevant to the proposed topic. If your program is selected, we will be in touch with each speaker to collect a full biography to include in our conference program book.

Speaker Compensation & Program Costs

As a non-profit education organization, we try to stretch our budget as far as possible to maximize the impact of our program. We also understand that some speakers may need additional support to participate in our conference. You will have the opportunity on the proposal to share your needs. Below are some guidelines around compensation.

Travel, lodging, registration, and meals:

  • All speakers: We are happy to offer complimentary registration to our speakers for as much of the conference as you would like to attend. Lunch and free parking (in a Lancaster City Parking Authority garage or lot) is provided the day you speak.

  • Speakers who travel more than 50 miles one way: We will consider requests to cover travel costs (i.e. mileage, ticket or rental fee reimbursement, tolls, etc). We can also cover one night of lodging per day of speaking. All speakers are responsible for booking their own lodging, within the PASA block at the Lancaster Marriott, and using the appropriate method of alerting PASA of the details of the reservation details. Please note that we cannot provide travel and lodging support for speakers who will attend with an exhibiting company.

Speaker fees and other requests:

Limited funding is available to cover speaker requests beyond our standard compensation as outlined above.
We are a nonprofit organization supported by our members, and we ask presenters to consider this when making requests. We are willing to consider non-traditional requests. Waived speaker costs can be credited towards sponsorship, trade show, or advertising costs, but these arrangements must be negotiated when your business pledges the sponsorship/trade show/advertising support.

Please describe any compensation that would be needed to make this program doable. If multiple speakers are involved, be specific to each speaker. Please also include an estimate for any costs relating to supplies.
