Informed Grazing From Pasture to Bulk Tank: Milk Components as a Management Tool

Thursday, July 23
10–2 pm

Cost: $10

Frescura Farm
204 Kemerer Rd
Latrobe, PA 15650
About the event

Learn how milk components can help you evaluate pasture performance and make informed grazing and nutritional management decisions.

Hosted at Frescura Farm, a 35-cow Horizon Organic grazing dairy, we’ll examine the relationship between pasture management, forage quality, and milk components. We’ll discuss how butterfat, protein, MUN, and other milk test indicators can serve as valuable feedback for evaluating grazing decisions throughout the season and identifying opportunities to improve herd performance.

On this pasture walk, we’ll connect what we see in the field with what shows up in the bulk tank. You’ll have the opportunity to examine real-life farm examples, discuss component trends with experienced grazing professionals, and learn practical monitoring strategies to take back to your farm.

Come with questions and ready to learn how to get more value from your grazing system.
