About the workshop

Home gardeners and small-scale growers—find out your eligibility for an FSA Farm Number and learn to maximize your growing space!

Did you know that your home garden or hydroponic setups can qualify as a “farm,” making you eligible for an FSA Farm Number? A farm number allows access to USDA programs, disaster relief, and low-interest loans to support your growing needs.

Join us at Mill Creek Urban Farm to hear from Nina Berryman, Philadelphia Farm Service Agency County Executive Director, on how to get started with generating a farm number, and learn about acreage reporting!

There will also be a hands-on demo and workshop where you’ll learn how to make the most out of your growing space through transplanting, companion planting, and care and maintenance. You’ll have the opportunity to make and take potted plants to grow in your own home garden.
