Advocacy Toolbox Speaker Series (Part 1): The Farm-to-School Movement

Wednesday, January 7
1—2 pm

Cost: Free
About the webinar

Tune into this virtual speaker series to deepen your understanding of agriculture policy and grow as a farmer advocate.

The “Advocacy Toolbox Speaker Series” brings together a lineup of speakers who offer both subject matter expertise and real-world advocacy experience. From developing relationships with legislators to harnessing the power of research, this speaker series is designed to equip farmer advocates with the tools they need to make an impact.

In the first part of this advocacy series, Samantha Gibb of The Food Trust and the PA Farm-to-School Network will discuss the development of the Keystone Fresh Act, an initiative to increase school capacity to source from local farms. Samantha’s presentation will offer a peek into the development of the bill’s text, as well as examine the process of working with legislative champions and seeking co-sponsors. The session will conclude with practical ways you can plug into the farm-to-school movement and deepen your work as an advocate.

Come prepared to share, discuss, and connect with fellow farmers and food system changemakers!
