Soil Health 101

Wednesday, August 27
5:30–8 pm

Cost: $5
About the workshop
Dig in on all things soil at Anchor Run CSA in Bucks County, PA, as we break down the basics of soil science.

Building and preserving soil health is a fundamental component of a secure food system that protects ecosystems and communities. Healthy soils grow healthy plants.

Whether you’re a beginner or an expert, there is always something new to learn about building healthy soils. You’ll receive a crash course on soil science from Laura Kaminsky, one of Pasa’s research scientists, as well as learn how to interpret a soil health test and how to classify soil texture by feel. If you are able, please bring a bag of soil from your farm or garden!

Anchor Run CSA is a participant in Pasa’s long-running Soil Health Benchmark Study. We’ll hear a bit about their soil health data over time and other findings from our 8+ years of data from this study.
