Growing Great Tomatoes from Seed to Harvest

Saturday, August 16
10 am - 12 pm
About the workshop

Join us for this two-hour field day to learn tips and tricks for growing tomatoes from seed to harvest in both field and tunnel production.

John and Aimee Good of The Good Farm will cover topics including greenhouse management and varietal selection for field and tunnel growing, as well as pest, weed, and disease management plans, fertility needs, trellising methods, and harvest best practices. We’ll also learn how tomatoes fit into a crop rotation in tunnel production.

This event is designed for participants in Pasa’s apprenticeship and pre-apprenticeship programs, but all are welcome to attend.

About the host

Since 2017, John and Aimee Good have been farming on 18 acres of land in beautiful northwestern Lehigh County, Pennsylvania, near the base of the Blue Mountain. Previously, they owned and operated Quiet Creek Farm, a certified organic and 200+ member CSA, at The Rodale Institute from 2006 to 2016. With 20 years of experience in the field, they enjoy sharing their knowledge with others, speaking at farming conferences, hosting on-farm workshops, and training young farmers every season.
