Roots & Remembrance: A Juneteenth Gathering

Thursday, June 19th
10 am - 3 pm
About the workshop

This Juneteenth, join us in honoring the memories and legacies of our ancestors with the aunties and farmers at Mt. Pleasant Acres Farms!

Spend the day laughing and sharing food with each other as we remember the past, our ancestors, and the amazing work of Harriet Tubman. Come ready to reflect, connect, and celebrate!

On the morning of the event, there will be a bus leaving from Philadelphia to Mt. Pleasant. If you’re interested in joining this bus ride, please select this option during registration, and a Pasa staff member will follow up with you through email. We are able to take up to 30 registrants on a first-come, first-served basis, so don’t wait to register! Otherwise, we’ll see you on the farm!

“ My home, after all, was down in Maryland, because my father, my mother, my brothers, and sisters, and friends were there. But I was free, and they should be free.”
  — Harriet Tubman
About the host

Mt. Pleasant Acres Farm contains 111 acres of row crops, fruits and vegetables, forests, and wetlands. The farm is a showcase of forestry management, organic food production, and Black history, as it was a stop along the Underground Railroad. It is also a food forest providing habitat for insect pollinators, songbirds, and game birds.
