Advanced Vegetable Growers Discussion (Part 1): Crop Fertility Measures

Thursday, February 27, 6:00 - 7:30 PM

Virtual

Tune into this two-part virtual discussion series with seasoned growers and share your tips and tricks!

The first session of this discussion series will center around fertility measures, including pre-plant fertilizers and post transplant fertigation throughout the growing cycle. Farm Manager Kirstie Jones and Assistant Farm Manager Steph Jones will discuss their fertilization plan at Pennypack Farm & Education Center. These plans maximize production and includes granular organic fertilizer, as well as drip line-administered products to foster healthy soil and nutrient uptake.

This series is an informal opportunity for experienced vegetable farmers to connect with each other, share challenges and successes, and chat about farming. Come to share or simply to listen. Experienced farm apprentices are also welcome to join!

You can also register to attend our second session, where we will cover pest and disease management.

About the facilitators

Founded in 2003, Pennypack Farm & Education Center is a 13-acre diversified vegetable farm co-managed by Kirstie and Steph Jones using organic practices to grow for CSA and a food donation program.
