Dear supporters,
This letter
(
linked here)
will be submitted as official comment on OSHA's Heat Injury and Illness Prevention rule (summary fact sheet
linked here).
In that proposed rule, all employers with ten employees or more would be required to implement specific protocol in order to protect their staff from high heat events. We are currently operating in an environment in which farms that undervalue worker well-being are better positioned to make a profit. We need to move toward a more level playing field for responsible employers where workplace safety is the norm for everyone. OSHA’s proposed Heat Injury Illness and Prevention rule nudges the expectations in a positive direction.
