Climate Change & Agriculture: Precipitation Dynamics

Friday, November 15, 1:00 - 2:00 PM

Virtual

In this two-part webinar series, we’ll dive into the why and how behind the changing climate and examine its effects on agriculture.

In this second session, we’ll discuss how climate change will alter the precipitation patterns in our region.

We’ll discuss how agriculture, including crops and livestock, will be affected by periods of too much water and too little water. You’ll learn tools for tracking precipitation and drought conditions, as well as tools for adapting to precipitation variability.

Our speakers

  • Rachel Schattman, Assistant Professor of Agriculture at the University of Maine
  • Sara Kelemen, New England Soil Health Specialist at American Farmland Trust
  • Mike Snow, Connecticut River Watershed Farmers Alliance

This can be viewed as a standalone webinar, but we recommend that you tune into the first session.
